Originally conceived as a permitted development, the scheme was re-engineered as a highly insulated timber-frame structure, embracing Passive House principles and achieving significantly enhanced performance. With its curved roofline, crisp detailing, and a sleek black timber cladding, the home is a bold reinterpretation of the traditional barn. Large openings frame views and bring in natural light, while the dark material palette allows the building to sit subtly within its rural surroundings, in line with Paragraph 84 guidance.
