HAWKES Architecture design inspirational sustainable buildings that respond sensitively to the individual needs of every client and every site.
But all architects say that, don’t they?

What makes us so different?
Because we started as we mean to go on. Our first completed project, the Crossway PassivHaus, is a celebration of our belief that sustainability is a rich blend of local knowledge, traditional quality, cutting edge technology and genuine passion.
Since Crossway was first featured on Grand Designs in February 2009 we have continued to monitor the building’s performance in collaboration with Cambridge University. This has given us a unique and tangible feel for energy and resources. The results continue to help inform and refine the choices we make through the design process.
This kind of live, on-going and detailed research epitomises the care and attention we give to all our projects here at HAWKES Architecture.
We love the design process. We are inquisitive and curious and listen carefully to our clients. We want you to enjoy the designing and building of your project as much as we do !
We are renowned for designing buildings of exceptional quality within complex planning sites. We have been involved in several pioneering PPS7 houses. We build to PassivHaus standards, because we’re passionate about saving energy and making our building work well in the long term. We believe the joy of architecture goes hand in hand with ensuring buildings have low energy use and minimal environmental impact.
Every project is a unique journey. Our role is to guide you through every stage of this journey and to make each and every step a happy and satisfying one.
