Whitsunden Oast

The existing structure at Whitsunden Oast has many flaws that our proposed designs changes seek to address. The interior spaces are currently small and the property suffers from being shoehorned into the corner of its substantial plot.

Previous planning application to extend the front of the house had been refused by the local authority, with subsequent appeals dismissed due to their insensitive approach.

Our successfully approved designs enable the new house to have a much stronger connection to its site and grounds and release the shackles of the internal layout, through a complete remodelling of the interior. By introducing a new contemporary double storey addition onto the oast and a single storey lounge onto the front of the building.

It’s testament to the value of our well considered design, that this bold proposition has been granted planning permission by Tunbridge Wells BC, who applauded our approach and the quality of our proposed changes.

The end result will be a significant, enhancing this non designated heritage asset and work is scheduled to begin in Spring 2020.
