Hawkes Architecture were the UK's most successful Planning Policy Statement 7 (PPS 7) practice, gaining consent for 4 isolated dwellings in the open countryside, before the National Planning Policy Framework was revised in 2012.

What was Planning Policy Statement 7

The term 'Planning Policy Statement 7' refers to the aspirational National Planning Policy established in 1997, that set out various circumstances that would enable the erection of new isolated dwelling in the open countryside. National Planning Policy Framework, 'Paragraph 55' superseded this unique policy in 2012, a response to improve the quality of new build housing, with very poor environmental consideration.
