Bergbyr Para 79

Set adjacent to a Scheduled Ancient Monument on the edge of a small elevated settlement sits an architectural gem. The design explores the protective functional role that the former Motte created to protect its inhabitants.

The elegant sculptural form inverts the functional role of the Motte. Enclosed defensible spaces gently spiral out of the ground to create an open central courtyard while embracing, enclosing & framing views & spaces from its commanding hilltop position.
